Sharon Catchings was born and raised in Houston, TX, the city that's developed into the perfect playground for artists. Outside the love of being a mother, and managing her business, she devotes her remaining time towards her passion for art.  Family, friends, and instructors always encouraged Sharon to take her talent further and that’s just what she did.   She has taken art courses ranging from sculpting, design, drawing, collage, painting, and human figure while gratefully accepting numerous awards and scholarships for her artistic ability.  Her style could be defined as Abstract Expressionism using mixed media.  The themes of her creations range from collages, abstract expressionism and motivational images, where she finds inspiration from reflection from life experiences.  She has participated in many local art exhibitions as well as supported other upcoming artists.  Currently, Sharon is participating mostly in charitable events as "her way of using her gift to give".  She has helped waken the audience for art lovers in Houston through her exhibits held every where from local galleries, restaurants, lounges, to high rises.  Feel free to inquire as she would love to share the meaning of her evocative creations.
